BHOPAL: The Laghu Vetan Karamchari Sangh- body of government employees mainly consisting of class IV employees- has decided to send 1 lakh postcards to the chief minister to press their demands.
State president of Laghu Vetan Karamchari Sangh, Mahendra Sharma said that they have only three point demand charter. ëWe demand arrears due with the government since July 2020. Our main demand also includes raising the dearness allowance from 12% to 17%,í said Sharma. ††
The third demand was accepted by the government but hasnít been implemented yet. The Karamchari Sangh had demanded renaming of the peon post to office assistant. It was approved by the cabinet but the file is pending with the General Administration Department, since then.
In the first phase of protest, the employees will send postcards mentioning their demands to the chief minister, from June 9.
In the second phase, that starts from June 14, delegations of the Karamchari Sangh will hand over memorandum to collectors of all 52 districts addressing the Chief Minister and finance minister.
In the third phase, on June 18 members of the sangh will meet the in-charge ministers of their districts and hand over their demand charter.
President of the sangh, Sharma said that they will see what impact these three phases of protest have over the government. The sangh will have a meeting later to decide about a pen down strike.
"Though final decision will be taken later but we are contemplating to go on indefinite strike from July 1," added Sharma.
