Thane, Jun 8 (UNI) The Rural Police have registered a first information report against 14 persons from Varap of Kalyan taluka in the district for allegedly beating up a live-in couple on the day of their house-warming ceremony.
An offence under sections 143, 147, 149, 323, 327, 452 and 467 of Indian Penal Code was registered against them on Monday, police said on Tuesday.
But no arrest has been made so far in this connection.
Among the accused is the wife of the man who lived with other woman from the same village.
Quoting from the complaint, police said after deserting his wife, the man was living with the live-in partner.
They had kept the house-warming party on May 27 and sent invitation for the same to the man's relatives and friends in his group, which was seen by his wife.
Furious over this, the woman along with her relatives and friends gatecrashed into the house of the victim on the day of the party, beat the live-in couple and totally ransacked the house, sources added.
