Mumbai, June 9: The Reliance Infrastructure-led Mumbai Metro One Private Ltd (MMOPL) that runs between Ghatkopar and Versova has completed seven years of its seamless operations this year.

It is the only metro line that is currently in service in the maximum city. On June 8 2014, this metro line was opened up for the public since then it has served more than 668 million commuters, covering eight million km with 99.9 per cent punctuality, proving the highest train performance levels and a completely accident free service, according to the MMOPL.

In fact, before the pandemic, Mumbai Metro One was the eight densest corridor in the world carrying more than 4.5 lacs commuters on a week day. However, due to Covid-19 and travel restriction as only essential service employees currently being allowed to use public transport the ridership of metro one too has been affected.

While the MMOPL believes the key to its success has been to provide world class experience to its commuters. For which it regularly introduced several user and travel friendly initiatives like it was first metro in India to launch mobile based QR ticketing system in public transport which provides flexibility of buying tickets while sitting at home and travel seamlessly.

Also, it provides a wide range of fare options to its commuters to choose from like Monthly passes (unlimited trips and 45 trips), store value passes, return journey and single journey ticket, thus making it suitable for needs of every commuter.
