Kangana Ranaut recently claimed that she’s the highest tax paying actress in India but is unable to pay half of her last year’s tax due to ‘no work’.

Kangana was last seen in the 2020 film “Panga”.

Ranaut took to her Instagram stories and wrote, “Even though I come under highest tax slab pay almost 45 percent of my income as tax, even though I am the highest tax paying actress but because of no work haven’t paid half of my last year’s tax yet, first time in my life.”

For those unversed, back in 2019, Forbes India, in its annual Celebrity 100 list ranked Kangana on the 70th position.

The Forbes India Celebrity 100 List rankings were based on estimates of earnings through professions and endorsements of celebrities and estimates of their fame.

Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandel slammed Forbes and claimed that Kangana pays more tax than her entire income mentioned on the list.

She also sent the publication a legal notice.

Kangana was also asked about the same at the trailer launch of her movie, “Panga”. She said, "I think by taking someone's name and talk or comment about their personal life whether it is income or anything without any reliable sources is not good."

Meanwhile, on work front, Kangana awaits the release of her film “Thalaivi” which was earlier scheduled to release in April 2021, but was delayed due to the surge in COVID-19 cases, leading the cinema halls remaining shut.

Apart from this she also has 'Tejas', 'Dhaakad', and 'Manikarnika Returns: The Legend Of Didda' in the pipeline.

Kangana has also signed up to play the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in an upcoming political drama.
