Hyatt Suspends Operations In Hyatt Regency, Mumbai

Asian Hotels (West), the owner of the hotel was unable to put out funds.

Hyatt Regency Mumbai, one of the finest hotels in the city of Mumbai, has temporarily suspended all its operations with immediate effect. The hotel is owned by Asian Hotels (West) Ltd. 

Hospitality Industry has been one of the worst-hit sectors because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The closure of the hotel brings fore major problems that the industry faces, one of the main being the lack of revenue.

A short statement released by Hardip Marwah, General Manager, Hyatt Regency Mumbai states that no funds are forthcoming from the Asian Hotels (West) to enable payment of salaries or to support the operations of the hotel. 

Marwah further writes, "As a consequence, the decision has been taken to temporarily suspend all operations for Hyatt Regency Mumbai with immediate effect. The hotel will remain closed until further notice."

All operations are temporarily suspended in immediate effect.

Future reservations through Hyatt booking channels will remain temporarily unavailable,’ Sunjae Sharma, Vice President and Country Head - India, Hyatt said. At Hyatt, ‘our guests and colleagues are a top priority, and we are working closely with the hotel’s owner to resolve this situation,’ he added.
