French Open Quarterfinals LIVE- Day 11: Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff eye semifinal spots- The second quarterfinals of the French Open will take place on Wednesday (June 9). Top tennis superstars World No.1 Novak Djokovic, Coco Gauff, defending champions Rafael Nadal and Iga Swiatek will be in action. The matches come a day after Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, Tamara Zidansek, Alexander Zverev, (Stefanos Tsitsipas, Daniil Medvedev*) booked semifinal berth at Roland Garros 2021.

Coco Gauff vs Barbora Krejcikova- 3.30 pm

17-year-old Coco Gauff will face off Barbora Krejcikova in the opening game of Day 11 in the French Open. The latter has lost just one out of 9 sets in her progress to the quarterfinals. She lost a set to Karolina Pliskov and never looked back since. She has also defeated 5th seed Elina Svitolina in straight sets. On the other hand, Coco Gauff is unbeaten in all sets in the ongoing French Open which includes face-off with Jennifer Brady, Qiang Wang, Ons Jabeur and A Krunic.

Iga Swiatek vs M Sakkari-4.30 pm

Defending champion and 8th seed Iga Swiatek will face of 17th seeded Maria Sakkari in the quarterfinals of the French Open. Maria Sakkari is coming on the back of 8 out of 9 sets win in her previous matches. She has only lost a set to Elise Mertens and can provide stiff competition to Iga Swiatek in the quarterfinals. She has defeated World No.4 Sofia Kenin in the fourth round which will only boost her morale ahead of the crucial fixture.

Iga Swiatek, on the other hand, will be looking to repeat her heroics in French Open 2021. Since 2008, no women player has defended the title at Roland Garros. Defending a title in women’s tennis is not a common feat among women’s singles of late. Serena Williams had defended the Wimbledon title in 2016.

Rafael Nadal vs Diego Schwartzman- 5 pm

Defending champion Rafael Nadal will face off 10th seeded Diego Schwartzman of Argentina. The latter is coming on the back of wins against lower-ranked players in the previous rounds. He is expected to face stiff competition from Rafael Nadal in the upcoming fixture.

On the other, Rafael Nadal will be aiming to go past Roger Federer. The duo is currently stranded with 20 each Grand Slams. The ‘King of Clay’ Nadal is chasing record 14th French Open title while ‘GOAT’ Federer has won only one French Open title.

Novak Djokovic vs Matteo Berrettini- 11.30 pm

The 2016 French Open champion Djokovic will lock horns against 9th seeded Matteo Berrettini who is coming into this match after Roger Federer withdrew himself from the French Open. He does not have an impressive record but can give a tough fight to the Serbian by bringing his A-game.
