Fastly stock takes a hit after outage, but pares losses after 'fix' applied

Shares of Fastly Inc. FSLY, +4.56% took a 1.7% hit in premarket trading Tuesday, but pared earlier losses of as much as 5.5%, after the provider of real-time content delivery network services suffered an outage in the early hours that has reportedly affected a number of websites. The company said the issue has been identified and a fix has been applied. "Customers may experience increased origin load as global services return," the company said. The sites that were reportedly affected included those of the New York Times, CNN and Twitch, as the Associated Press reported. Fastly's stock has tumbled 42.0% year to date, while the S&P 500 SPX, +0.02% has gained 12.5%.
