Alert for probable cloudburst, 2-day curfew on June 10-11 issued in Ratnagiri

Kolhapur / Ratnagiri, Jun 7 (UNI) With possibility of cloudburst along with 200 to 300 mm of very heavy rainfall between June 10 and 11 in the district, collector Laxminarayan Mishra on Monday alerted NDRF to keep their two teams ready to meet any eventuality and also issued an order of two-day curfew during the period.
Addressing a news conference through Zoom app, he said that the administration's emergency system is ready to meet any eventuality that arises due to cloudburst and shift people in flood-prone areas of about 31 villages in Khed, Rajapur, Chiplun Municipal Councils.
Also, there is a possibility of threat of heavy rainfall along with high tide in the sea at Dabhol, Harne, Anjarle, Bankot Khadi, Sakhari Nate and Sakhari villages, he said.
Mr Mishra further said that the disaster management department is ready with five fibre boats at five tehsil places where there is a possibility of heavy floods, along with police, civic department and others.
