Ameesha Patel was widely praised for her debut in Kaho Na... Pyaar Hai and she has often been called as one of the sexiest Bollywood actresses. However, this did not last long as Patel had difficulty booking other hit roles. She has been trying to make a comeback but it has been difficult.

According to Rajeev Massand's column in Open magazine, Ameesha is trying to give acting another serious shot. Apparently, her manager has been reaching out to every producer and director currently planning a new film and letting them know that Ameesha is ready to do any kind of role, "including the one Aishwarya played in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil". Directors cannot stop laughing at her desperate pitch, the report says.

Sure, she has had roles in Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Race 2 but they haven't been one of the leading lady.

To make matters worse, actors and famous personalities prefer to be in the limelight for their career but Ameesha often makes headlines for personal issues like the time she and her parents became estranged. A misunderstanding occurred when Patel's dad used her money to resurrect a family business, Ameesha sent a legal notice to her father for mismanaging her accounts and assets amounting to Rs 120 million and demanded the money back. The family has now sorted everything out and is completely amicable with each other.

Another time Ameesha made headlines is when an Air India employee filed a police complaint alleging that Patel had misbehaved with her after her companion was not upgraded to first class on the Mumbai-New York flight in 2006. Patel was on her way to attend India's Independence Day parade in New York.

Afterwards, however, the organisers of the annual parade sent a written apology and a clarification to Patel and said it had booked two first class seats for Patel and her companion but the booking was automatically transferred from one flight to another, creating the confusion.
