Nanded legislators help administration with their funds

Nanded, Jun 7 (UNI) During the Corona outbreak, many philanthropists, including the central and state governments, came to the rescue. In this task the 9 MLAs and 2 MLCs from the district have also extended a helping hand to implement various preventive measures from their funds. A total of Rs 5.40 crore has been provided totally.
During the last financial year, the 9 MLAs and 2 MLCs from the district have provided funds under the local development program for various measures implemented to control the outbreak of covid virus in the district. It includes ventilators, infrared thermometers, oximeters, PPE kits, various kinds of masks, corona testing kits, sanitizers, oxygen cylinder kits, medicines and other materials. The find was also used for providing physical facilities required for the operation in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Covid Centers and other hospitals.
Guardian Minister Ashok Chavan called a meeting of the district planning department in this regard. It was attended by the collector Dr Vipin Itankar, Municipal Commissioner Sunil Lahane, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Varsha Thakur, District Surgeon Dr Nilkanth Bhosikar and other department heads and officers.
The Degloor- Biloli MLA Raosaheb Antapurkar gave the highest amount of Rs 99. 91 lakh. He took the initiative to take preventive measures against corona infection, but unfortunately he contracted the corona virus and died while undergoing treatment in Mumbai. The funds provided by other MLAs include Madhav Patil Jawalgaonkar Rs 88. 32 lakh, Rajesh Pawar 59.51 lakh, Mohan Hamberde Rs 55.86 lakh, Ashok Chavan Rs 48.68 lakh, Bhimrao Keram Rs 38.24 lakh, Shyamsunder Shinde Rs 27.80 lakh, Balaji Kalyankar Rs 27.07 lakh and Dr Tushar Rathod Rs 25.77 lakh. The MLCs contributed included Ram Patil Ratolikar Rs 36.72 lakh and Amar Rajurkar Rs 29.51 lakh.
