Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Different parts of state received light to moderate rain in last 24 hours. This rain is due to cyclonic circulation over Madhya Pradesh.
Indore recorded 22.6 mm, Bhopal recorded 16 mm and Khajuraho recorded 2.8 mm of rainfall. Similarly, Raisen recorded 6.4 mm rain and Chhindwara recorded 1.4 mm rain.
The south-west parts of the state are likely to received light to moderate rain in next 24 hours. This trend is likely to persist for time being.
According to meteorological department, rain is due to cyclonic circulation, which is over south-west region of the state. South-west monsoon may also make an early advance over Madhya Pradesh and other nearby states by the middle of the month.
Besides, a low-pressure area is expected to form in next 24 hours over Bay of Bengal. This will turn into a depression on June 11 and move closer to Odisha coast and West Bengal. This system will revive active monsoon conditions over large parts of the country, according to department.

Therefore, moisture feeding will continue from both side of Madhya Pradesh, that is, from Maharashtra and Gujarat and from West Bengal. So, rain activities are expected to continue.
With the further movement of depression over land, the monsoon will advance over West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh before the scheduled date. Heavy rainfall will commence over coastal parts on June 10 and spread. It will intensity from June 11.
