This will be his second stint with the Indian team after working with the boys as a batting consultant during the England tour in 2014.
David will be accompanied by six coaching staff, which will consist of members of Dravid’s team from the NCA, as per a report from Cricbuzz. It added that the white-ball team that will travel to Sri Lanka have been assured of one-week preparation ahead of the opening match. India squad might quarantine ahead of the Sri Lanka tour depending on Lanka’s bio-bubble rules.
As per the Sri Lanka Ministry of Health, guidelines state that one-day quarantine is needed for the fully vaccinated people from India. These rules are applicable up to June 30. The guidelines, the order says, could change after June 30.

A pre-departure negative RT-PCR test would be needed on arrival. Players will then be tested a negative test result at the hotel. The BCCI had previously advised players to take their vaccinations but it remains to be seen how many can complete their doses.
None of India’s players, who are a part of the travelling group for the World Test Championship final and the England Test series, will be part of the Sri Lanka series.
SL vs IND: A second-string Team India will play all six matches of its Sri Lanka tour at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, beginning July 13. With Virat Kohli-led Team India in England, the white-ball specialists will take on Sri Lanka for a three-match ODIs and three-match T20Is series in Sri Lanka with Rahul Dravid as the coach during the tour. It will see Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer and Hardik Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar returning to the fold after being overlooked for the England tour.
As per a Times of India report, all six matches will be held at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo with broadcaster Sony Sports revealing the dates of the matches. The selectors will pick the squad with all-rounder Hardik Pandya, Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer set to return to the fold. As per the TOI report, Shreyas Iyer could lead the side.
