D-Link's DAP-X1860 wireless mesh range extender features Wi-Fi 6 technology.

The D-Link DAP-X1860 Wi-Fi 6 mesh range extender is designed for use with compatible Wi-Fi routers from D-Link and other vendors to create a whole-home mesh network.

Like most extenders, it plugs directly into a power point. Finding the optimal location is made easier by the built-in smart signal indicator.

The DAP-X1860 works with unspecified D-Link mesh routers and others that support the 802.11k/v standard which helps devices identify the best-available access point.

Specifications include dual-Band 802.11ax (aka Wi-Fi 6) with up to 600Mbps on the 2.4GHz band and 1200Mbps on the 5GHz band, up to four simultaneous data streams, WPA3 security, and one Gigabit Ethernet port.

Setup and management is performed though the D-Link Wi-Fi app for phones and tablets, or the device's web interface. The initial connection can also be made via WPS, where supported by the existing router.

The DAP-X1860 is available immediately with a recommended price of $229.95.
