- The Realme X9 Pro may come with a Snapdragon 870 processor.
Now that the Realme X7 series is more than six months old, the speculation around the next-generation X-series phones is growing stronger. There are rumours that the company is working on the Realme X9 series and that it may launch it soon, at least, initially, in China. The series may have two phones, the Realme X9 and the Realme X9 Pro, with the latter likely sporting the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor, the second most powerful Qualcomm chipset right now.
It makes sense to take a jump in terms of specifications when launching the successor to the Realme X7 series. The Realme X9 Pro will obviously be more powerful than the X7 Pro, but that is not going to be the only difference between the two phones. According to a tipster who shared his intel on Weibo, the Realme X9 Pro may sport a curved-edge display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Realme X7 Pro has the same high refresh rate, but the curved display is going to be new for the series.
There is also an unnamed Realme phone that has emerged on China's TENAA certification website. It bears the model number RMX3366. The listing has some information about the Realme phone, such as support for HDR display. If this mysterious phone is indeed the upcoming Realme X9 Pro, we may as well be looking at a 6.55-inch full-HD+ curved-edge OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR. The listing also suggests a 2200mAh dual-cell battery, Android 11 OS, and an 8mm thickness.
The tipster did not have much to reveal in terms of specifications, but the listing on the certification website did reveal key information. But that list of specifications is still incomplete. Moreover, we are not sure if the phone on the TENAA listing and the one that the tipster talked about are the same. But the tipster has claimed to know the price of the Realme X9 Pro, which, according to him, will cost between CNY 2,500 (roughly Rs 28,450) and CNY 3,000 (roughly Rs 34,140).
Realme X9 Pro will have a toned-down variant, as well, called the Realme X9. Now, there is not much to talk about this phone except for the speculation that says it is going to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor. Qualcomm launched the Snapdragon 778G processor sometime back as the sequel to the Snapdragon 768G chipset. Realme, back then, announced that it was working on a phone codenamed "Quicksilver" that would use the new Snapdragon 778G chipset. If you connect the dots, the Realme "Quicksilver" may be the Realme X9. The tipster has claimed the Realme X9 will cost somewhere between CNY 2,000 (roughly Rs 22,750) and CNY 2,500 (roughly Rs 28,430).
For now, Realme's plans for the X9 series are not exactly clear, but its launch seems imminent.
