Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation at 5 pm today, PMO tweeted.
The address comes at a time when the country is seeing waning of the second coronavirus wave and as states start to unlock and begin economic activity.
India today reported slightly over 1 lakh cases, lowest in the last 61 days.
A number of states including the national capital Delhi, UP and Maharashtra are now preparing to open up in a graded manner.
The last time the PM addressed the nation was in April when the daily cases in the second wave were still rising. He had said that the lockdowns should be a last resort to contain the spreading virus.
