Chandigarh, June 6

A large number of unemployed youths have urged CM Capt Amarinder Singh to increase the age limit for recruitment in the Punjab Police.

A delegation has submitted a memorandum to the CM through his OSD Ankit Bansal, requesting the relaxation in the age limit. They said the police department had announced the recruitment of nearly 10,000 constables and sub-inspectors. As no recruitment was conducted by the police in the last four years, many youths, who were waiting for the job, had gone overage. “If the state increases age limit to 32 years, nearly 2.5 lakh youths will get a chance for job,” the memorandum said. — TNS
