The central party in the state, Modi government sent officers selectively! But why?

Kolkata: The central party moved to the state. The state-center conflict over Cyclone Yaas and its aftermath has not stopped. The ‘absence’ of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meeting with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the then Chief Secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay has gone a long way. Even though Mamata Banerjee has claimed that the state has lost Rs 20,000 crore in Yas, only Rs 250 crore has been provided by the Center so far. In such a situation, the Modi government sent a central delegation to the state to inspect the Yas devastated area. They arrived in the state on Sunday night.

The central team, which arrived in the state on Sunday night, will visit several Yas-ravaged areas of the state for the next four days. They are scheduled to visit Patharpratima, Gosaba, Digha, South and North 24 Parganas and several damaged areas in East Midnapore from Monday. Before the arrival of the party, the full schedule of their visit was sent to Navanne by the Union Home Ministry.

According to the Union Home Ministry, the seven-member delegation includes representatives from the Union Home Ministry, the Agriculture Department, the Transport Department, the Rural Development Department, the Power Department, the Fisheries Department and the Finance Department. And the structure of the delegation that came to Bengal is considered to be of special significance by the political circles. Why? This is because the central government has included a representative from the concerned department for each of the cases in which the state has reported the amount of damage due to YAS.

The BJP has already started raising multiple allegations of relief in the state. Even the governor has set the tone on various issues every day. In such a situation, the arrival of the central delegation in the state has created a new atmosphere of conflict. However, the grassroots have been keeping a tight rein on this issue so far.

Incidentally, Alapana Banerjee has already replied to the show-cause notice brought against him by sending a letter. He sent a four-page reply letter last Thursday. The former Chief Secretary (WB) has replied to the allegations against him in the same letter. It is to be noted that Alapan Bandyopadhyay has sent a letter on the same subject, the same letter has been sent to the Center by the present Chief Secretary Harikrishna Dwivedi.
