GUWAHATI, June 6: Business Development Unit (BDU) of Lumding Division NFR contacted the authorities of Tripura State Horticulture Department, traders and farmers of Agartala area and suggested the services of Kisan rail for transportation of jackfruits, pineapples, lemons and other agri-products of Tripura to larger markets in different parts of the country. Kisan rails from Agartala to Delhi and Chitpur (Kolkata) have been announced from the month of June.  Meanwhile, NFR has already transported jackfruits of Tripura by train from Agartala to Guwahati for further shipment to the United Kingdom by airways.

Among the Kisan Rails, 00591 Agartala-Adarsh Nagar (Delhi) Kisan Rail will run on June 11 and 25; July 9, 16, 23 and 30 leaving from Agartala on Friday to reach Adarsh Nagar, Delhi on Sunday. The train will have stoppages at Ambassa, Kumarghat, Dharmanagar, New Karimganj, Badarpur, Lumding, Guwahati and Prayagraj Junction for loading/ unloading of goods.

Another, 00590 Agartala-Chitpur Kisan Rail will run on June 16 and 30; July 7, 14, 21 and 28 leaving from Agartala on Wednesday to reach Chitpur on Thursday. The train will have stoppages at Ambassa, Kumarghat, Dharmanagar, New Karimganj, Badarpur, Lumding, Guwahati and New Jalpaiguri for loading/unloading of goods.
