macOS Monterey is the new macOS version for all the MacBook and iMac users around the world. Like it has always been the case, the focus is on enhancing productivity with no compromises on the entertainment front. There are features that have been taken from iOS 15 but there are also the ones specifically designed for macOS.

There are your iOS 15 features like everything new with FaceTime, SharePlay, Screen Sharing, Share with You, and Focus mode. These will work exactly the same as we covered in the iOS 15 coverage. Apple is expanding macOS Continuity functionality so that users can work even more seamlessly across different devices. The new feature is Universal Control where users can move between a Mac and an iPad using a single mouse and keyboard.

The best part is that even supports dragging and dropping between the two devices effortlessly. These extended functionalities can be used with more than two devices at the same time. Next up, we have AirPlay to Mac that will let users transfer movies, videos, songs, games, presentations, photos, and almost anything from iPhone/iPad to the Mac. It is also as seamless as dragging and dropping content from one side to another.

Remember Shortcuts on iOS? Those are now coming to Mac so that you do all those automated tasks directly from your macOS notebook or desktop. Shortcuts on Mac can be integrated with Finder, Siri, Spotlight, and Menu. If you have existing Automator workflows, you can import them to Shortcuts with ease.

Safari web browser has also undergone important changes as it gets a new tab design. It will allow users to see more content as they will scroll through pages. It now supports Tab Groups so that you can group relevant tabs together. As we know how Apple likes to work, Tab Groups will sync across all devices including iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Since we are talking about Safari, the team has now expanded Extensions support to iPhone and iPads.
