The inside story of Jaipur greater municipal corporation politics: Behind the political storm in Jaipur Greater Municipal Corporation, there is a dispute between the mayor and the commissioner of other councilors, Yagyamitra Dev Singh, regarding the garbage collection company BVG.
Jaipur. The tussle between Congress and BJP has reached the municipal office of the capital Jaipur. Jaipur Greater Municipal Corporation Mayor Soumya Gurjar (Mayor Soumya Gurjar) and the commissioner in the dispute over the garbage collection company, the government got into the mode of the coup of the city government late on Sunday night. The state government has suspended the chairman of two committees including the mayor and a councilor with immediate effect.
For the first time in the state, an elected mayor has been suspended. In fact, on June 3, Mayor Soumya Gurjar sent a letter to Commissioner Yagyamitra Dev Singh that the BVG company is going on strike. By stopping the work of public interest, the company is unnecessarily putting pressure on the Municipal Corporation. The next day, in a meeting on other issues including payment to the company, the mayor made serious allegations against the commissioner. The mayor alleges that the commissioner is busy filling the pockets with the company.
The commissioner had made a report of indecent behavior and assault
The dispute escalated so much in the meeting that the commissioner left the meeting. Late on Friday night, the commissioner also accused the Mayor of speaking abusive language against the mayor and assaulting some councilors, including councilor Paras Jain.
All four suspended based on RAS investigation
UDH Minister Shanti Dhariwal handed over the investigation of the entire matter to Renu Khandelwal, RAS officer posted in DLB. Meanwhile, the commissioner removed all the four home guards engaged in the security of the mayor. Based on the investigation of Renu Khandelwal, the four were suspended by issuing an order late on Sunday at 11.30 pm.
Now there will be a judicial inquiry into the matter, membership is also in trouble
The DLB has issued orders for the suspension and removal of the Mayor and three other councilors with immediate effect under Section 39 (6) of the Rajasthan Municipal Act 2009. Apart from Mayor Soumya Gurjar, two chairmen (Ward 39 Councilor Ajay Singh Chauhan and Ward 72 Councilor Paras Jain) and Ward 103 Councilor Shankar Sharma have been suspended. Now under section 39 (3), an inquiry will be conducted by a judicial officer of the rank of Judge. Before removing the mayor, he will be given full opportunity of hearing and explanation.
This suspension will lead to the collapse of the Congress government - Poonia
BJP state president Satish Poonia has said that this suspension will lead to the downfall of the state government. Soumya Gurjar said that the government is forcibly blaming them due to its dogma. Despite the BJP having a majority in the corporation, the Congress government is not willing to let it work.
