Army jawan Prabhjot Singh (27), who had reportedly died in a bomb explosion at the Mahajan field firing range in Rajasthan on Saturday, was cremated with full state honours at his native Bura Gujjar village here today.

His father Hardeep Singh said Prabhjot had come to his residence for his wedding about four months ago. “He was scheduled to return to his home. However, his body has arrived. I had one son and a daughter,” he said.

“We demand a probe into the incident. The responsibility should be fixed for this accidental bomb blast,” said Rajinder Singh, a village resident.
