The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is widely tipped to be the first Samsung smartphone with an under-display camera. There have been reports talking about the technical details of the camera sensor. And now, we have a new leak revealing some important things about the new camera tech set to debut with the next-gen Galaxy foldable.

As per a well-known tipster Ice Universe aka @UniverseIce, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 under-display camera sensor will have over 40% UPC (Under-Panel Camera) transmittance. It is said to be significantly higher than any other camera of this type. This means the camera on the foldable will let more light inside, resulting in better photos with more details captured.

This is undoubtedly a good thing on paper but the actual implementation is not exactly perfect. The same tipster adds that the appearance of the UPC is similar to a mosaic. It means you will be able to differentiate between the rest of the display and the panel portion where the under-display camera resides.

Samsung is tipped to announce the Galaxy Fold 3 alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy S21 FE sometime in August. It will be part of the third-generation family of foldable smartphones released by the company.
