A dealership group in the Cincinnati area is giving customers who turn in their face masks for disposal $500 off a used vehicle.
Mark Williams Auto Group, which has two Ford stores and a Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram store, is offering the deal to mark the end of Ohio's statewide mask mandate and indoor capacity limits. The group also wants to help protect the environment from being littered with unwanted masks.
"We're a business. We come here to work," Charlie Watson, the group's marketing director, told TV station Fox 19. "But we're people that are excited as a community to progress. So to celebrate that, and then to keep people from just throwing these things out, because it does add up, and if we are all doing the wrong thing, it can get bad, quick."
The dealership says it will ensure all masks that customers turn in are disposed of properly.
