Asus bags a total of 11 accolades, including two out of three Gold awards for a to-be-announced Asus display and the ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 SE GX551 gaming laptop at the 2021 Computex Design and Innovation Awards.
Asus has also been named as a recipient of one of only three Special awards available globally, in recognition of the ROG Flow X13 and XG mobile gaming laptop and external graphics card combo.
Each year, the organisers of the international Computex trade show invite technology manufacturers globally to compete in its annual design and innovation (D&I) awards process, which is an exacting, multi-stage assessment of innovation and design quality.
During the initial stage, products are judged by a panel of industry experts and investors, academics, and supervisors from both the Industrial Technology Research Institute and the Asia Pacific Industrial Analysis Association of Taiwan. Products selected for further appraisal are then put in front of a panel of international professional jurors, including IT industry experts and representatives from media.
Products are assessed across these five categories, with equal weighting afforded to each:
Innovation (originality, uniqueness, differentiation)
Technical (vision, scalability, material or process adoption, production efficiency, completion)
Functionality (usability, ergonomics, practicality, safety, universal design)
Social (industrial efficiency/benefits, environmental protection/carbon footprint, social responsibility)
Craftsmanship and aesthetics (beauty, refinement, emotional resonance, spatial concepts and application scenarios)
A total of 11 Asus and ROG products were honoured by the judges of the Computex D&I awards among the following categories: Information and Communication Hardware, Components and Peripherals and Gaming Hardware, Software and Peripherals.
