Telecom Italia to bring gigabit fibre to Castelfranco Veneto

Monday 7 June 2021 | 14:46 CET | News
Telecom Italia (TIM) announced plans to build a fibre-to-the-home network in the town of Castelfranco Veneto in the northeastern Treviso province after reaching an agreement with the local council. The company said the rollout will eventually enable residents in around 11,000 homes to access the internet at download speeds of up to 1 Gbps, up from the current maximum of 200 Mbps, following an investment of around EUR 4 million. TIM's existing FTTC network in the town already covers around 13,000 homes, equivalent to 93 percent of the population.
