According to a study conducted by the University of Sydeney’s Charles Perkins Centre, it was found that almost around half a million people experience liver-damaging effects of alcohol. People in the overweight or obese categories who drank alcohol were found to be at greater risk of liver diseases compared with participants within a healthy range who consumed alcohol at the same level, said senior author and research program director professor Emmanuel Stamatakis. This study is being considered as one of the largest studies which primarily focused on the increased adiposity (overweight or obesity) and level of alcohol consumption together in with respect to future liver disease.
