Longmont police notes: Traffic stop on wanted party leads to arrest

Jun. 6—Longmont police responded to a report of a possible DUI about 11:30 p.m. Thursday in the area of South Emery Street and Ken Pratt Boulevard. A man was contacted and later arrested.

A theft was reported Friday in the 900 block of Sixth Avenue. Longmont police took a report.

A traffic stop was initiated Friday in the 700 block of Ken Pratt Boulevard on a vehicle with a known wanted party inside. A man was contacted and arrested on the prior outstanding arrest warrant and new additional charges of felony bond violations and a protection order violation.

Oldest male chimpanzee in US dies at San Francisco zoo
The oldest male chimpanzee living in an accredited North American zoo died Saturday at the San Francisco Zoo & Gardens. The chimpanzee, named Cobby, had been a hand-reared performing chimpanzee before he was brought to the San Francisco zoo in the 1960s. Although the zoo said in a news release that the chimpanzee's cause of death had not been determined, the animal had recently been ill and zoo officials believe old age was a factor.
