Mexican Actor Osvaldo Benavides Joins 'The Good Doctor' as Series Regular For Season Five
The Good Doctor might have lost an original star, but it’s gaining a brand new series regular in Osvaldo Benavides!
The series announced, via Deadline, that the popular Mexican actor will stay with the show for the upcoming season five.

Osvaldo portrays Dr. Mateo Rendón Osma, whow as introduced during the two-part season four finale.
Mateo is described as “an incredibly skilled trauma surgeon, who has spent many years working in Guatemala for a Doctors-Without-Borders type of organization. But Mateo hasn’t always been a hero; some rash actions during his residency will be back to haunt him and could complicate things.”
His introduction on the series came tied with a regular option, and after the series was renewed, his option was picked up as well.
Osvaldo joins Noah Galvin, who plays Asher Wolke, and Bria Samoné Henderson who plays Jordan Allen, as series regulars.
The Good Doctor‘s season four finale concludes tonight @ 10/9c on ABC.
