I know nothing about SSDs.

Which type of SSD is suitable for this laptop ?Which is the best performing SSD that can be installed on this specific laptop?

Have a budget of 20,000-25,000.

Also can anybody please point to a video link showing SSD installation for this specific laptop ?

Guess you unintentionally put an extra zero, If you have a budget of 25K, then I would suggest to sale/donate this poor thing and pick up a refurbished corporate model.

Kidding apart, this model only supports installing SATA SSDs. The HDD bay is quite easily accessible, so pop it out and place a SATA SSD there.

wouldn’t suggest you going overboard with buying stuff.

I don’t know if you have sufficient ram
But since you only asked for an ssd

here a link.

This should support your system. Again wouldn’t recommend going overboard as the system should be pretty old and near its end of life. (EOL)

Thank you very much, @Titokhan ,@Sammoka .Both of you are right .I have decided to buy the Samsung 870 EVO 1 TB and a Sabrent USB to SATA adapter.

If not for this laptop,could be used in future upgrades. I dont know if using adapters are reliable for cloning hard drives. I have heard that in some cases the source hard drive gets corrupted.

Is that true ?:nailbiting::depressed:
@Titokhan ,any suggestions for refurbished corporate models within my budget ?

I wouldn't let the eol tag discourage you. My wife has 10 year old toshiba satellite c640 which is now extremely usable once I upgraded the ram to 8 gb, wifi to ac, and the ssd. Also needed a new keyboard and battery, but total cost of upgrades came to less than 10k, and now it feels better that it was new, and wifey is a happy camper because she has had it since her m tech days

Whatever suits you best, but I have seen lots of people get rid of Thinkpads mostly from small organizations on OLX and as such, I also saw once a bunch of 2013 or 2014 macbooks go out for less than 20000. But for new you have quite a few options and the minimum upgrade required would be the ram if you're up for it.

All of them have an SSD option and except the last one (which is renewed) every single one of them is new. But except the last one all others require a RAM upgrade.

Also cloning hard drives is a pain, I pretty much ended doing that and back almost everything up online or on an external disk, and yes it can cause issues many a times.
