The movie brought in $24 million from 3,102 theaters, beating out last week’s No. 1, another horror competitor: A Quiet Place Part II. The movie is also available to watch on HBO Max.

Last week, the A Quiet Place sequel set a new record for pandemic-era box office numbers. The movie brought in $19.5 million in its following week.

The Devil Made Me Do It is the third Conjuring film, and the seventh film in the franchise, which also includes the Annabelle and The Nun spinoffs.

In the movie, the Warrens (Patrick Wilson, Vera Farmiga) investigate a murder that may be linked to a demonic possession.
