Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul Fight Preview, Odds and Betting Tips
Floyd 'Money' Mayweather takes on YouTuber-turned-boxer Logan Paul on Saturday evening in an exhibition bout at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
The fight is available on pay-per-view platforms and has finally been given the go ahead, having originally been scheduled to take place on February 20. With COVID-19 restrictions having been lifted, the event takes centre-stage on Showtime this week as the five-time world champion comes out of retirement.
The result of the fight will not count towards Mayweather's all-time record of 50 wins from 50 fights, given it is an exhibition, but the 44-year-old is still widely tipped to win the contest. We have previewed the events with best bets and an analysis of the match up, with odds from leading oddsmaker Betway.
The tale of the tape
Mayweather is widely regarded as one of the finest boxers of all time and remained unbeaten in the ring with his 50-0 record when defeating Conor McGregor by technical knockout.
This will be Mayweather's second exhibition bout after he won a three-round exhibition match against kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in Japan in November 2018 by technical knockout.
Mayweather is the undisputed 1/7 favourite for the fight, with Paul a general 5/1 chance. A draw is a 14/1 possibility.
By contrast, Paul made his name on Youtube with his Impulsive podcast having over 2.7 million followers on YouTube. Alongside stints as an actor, Paul entered the boxing ring for the first time in 2018 when he fought fellow YouTuber and rapper KSI. The fight was declared a draw and the pair renewed their rivalry in a rematch was a professional bout—KSI won by split decision.
Paul clearly comes into this fight as the clear underdog as his 5/1 odds suggest. He and his brother Jake Paul have also fueled the fires in the build-up to the bout having stolen Mayweather's hat at a press conference in May.

The lowdown
Given the exhibition nature of the fight, the rules are agreed in the contract between the fighters. The fight will be over eight rounds with Mayweather required to weigh in under 160 pounds and Paul under 190 pounds according to the terms of the fight.
Both fighters have an orthodox style, with Paul having a clear height advantage at 188cm, compared to Mayweather at 173cm. However, Mayweather's brilliance is highlighted by his versatility throughout his career, given he is a world champion at super featherweight, lightweight, light welterweight, welterweight and light middleweight.
The Michigan-born boxer is regularly referred as the best defensive boxer in history, whilst Mayweather has also won 27 of his fights by knockout.
It therefore looks a daunting task for "The Maverick" who despite having long reach, looks sure to be outmanoeuvred, out-mastered and outgunned by Mayweather. Paul's distinct lack of experience against a professional boxer, let alone someone with the heritage and enviable record of Mayweather highlights the uphill task facing the 26-year-old.
Mayweather holds the record for 26 World Championship fights and he has been his usual confident self in the build-up to this bout.
Betting focus
This is all about Mayweather. He will be hungry to silence Paul and win in quick fashion. He is a general 4/1 chance to win the fight in Round 1, with the same on offer for a Round 2 win for "Money." A 9/4 chance to win on points, Mayweather's most likely method of victory is to win by knockout or technical knockout at 1/2.
The task facing Paul is highlighted by him being an 8/1 chance to win via knockout/technical knockout and 25/1 to win on points.
Backing Mayweather to win via knockout at 1/2 looks sensible, along with "Money" to end the fight in Round 2 at 4/1.
