The Bangur Nagar Police booked a corporator and her party workers for allegedly assaulting a pani puri vendor in Malad in the second week of May. The offence was registered two weeks later after the vendor approached the police.
The incident took place on May 20 when the woman claiming to be corporator barged into a shop at Malad and assaulted the vendor. As per the vendor's statement to the police, soon the woman called her party workers and they also assaulted him. While leaving the shop one of the party workers allegedly took Rs 28,000 from the cash counter and they also damaged his shop by JCB machine alleged the vendor.
Meanwhile, the corporator had filed a complaint of molestation against the vendor. We have registered offences but no arrest have been made so far, said police.
