Dharamshala, June 6 (UNI) Kangra district recorded 74 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, whereas four people, including two females and two males died in the district due to virus.
With the addition of these deaths, the overall death toll has reached 979.
Addition of these new cases has pushed the district's overall tally to 44,490.
Chief Medical Officer Kangra Dr. Gurdharshan Gupta told UNI that all the 74 fresh cases recorded today have been isolated as per the protocol.
Dr Gupta said that two of the deaths were that of senior citizens, while two deaths were reported from Tanda Medical College, one each was reported from private hospitals of Pathankot and Hoshiyarpur Punjab.
The CMO said that there was a a decline in the number of active cases to 1983 on Sunday from 2391 on Saturday.
CMO said that there were 472 recoveries too, pushing the number of recovered
patients to 42,524 today, the figure stood at 41,052 yesterday.
