Former Mamelodi Sundowns spokesperson Thulani Thuswa dies in car crash

Former Mamelodi Sundowns spokesperson Thulani Thuswa passed away following a car accident on Sunday morning.

His family confirmed his death in a statement released to the media while TimeLive said that the accident took place on the M1 north as confirmed by Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department.

“It is with great sadness that we as the Thuswa family convey the news of the passing of our dear brother, Thulani Thuswa," the statement reads. 

"We are deeply shocked and saddened as a family‚ he was a true light in this world‚ a kind person and always ready to share that unforgettable smile of his.

“We know that many people were touched by the kind of person Thulani was and have expressed their hurt and shock.

"We respectfully ask for time as a family to privately mourn our beloved Thulani,” it concludes.

Former Sundowns manager, Pitso Mosimane took to Twitter following the news of Thuswa's death saying, " Rest in peace my brother. I am found lost for words. Gone too soon."

Thuswa left Sundowns in 2019 to start his own company.
