The movie was directed by Bheemaneni Srinivasarao. Before this movie, suswagatham was filmed in their combo which was a super hit and so the annavaram movie has very high expectations. This was a remake of tamil movie in which Vijay was a hero. The movie was co-produced by N.V.Prasad-Paras Jain under Super Good Films and usha Pictures banner.

The movie was taken with hesitating in case of budget and was release in the year 2006. Unexpectedly it was a flop. Though the investment was received within a week, people commented that they could not watch the movie. But Pawan was not the first choice for this movie. Initially the director asked chiranjeevi but as he was busy with other films, he suggested Pawan to do the movie. Pawan who could not say no to his brother’s words did this movie.
