Mandsaur firing: Nath slams CM

Bhopal, June 6 (UNI) On the fourth anniversary of Mandsaur District’s Piplya Mandi firing, Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee President Kamal Nath subjected the state dispensation to a veritable cannonade of allegations.
“The Shivraj Singh Chouhan government barbarically targeted peasants who were demanding their rights. It resulted in the tragic demise of six tillers. The regime is again harassing ryots. Agrarian income did not double but input expenses certainly did, owing to a spurt in prices of fertiliser, seed and diesel. Three black laws were imposed on growers to ruin them. Farmers who are agitating on the streets for the past six months have not even been given a hearing! Cultivators are vexed at purchase centres and there is no compensation for damaged crop. The loan waiver scheme launched during my tenure has been placed on the backburner,” the erstwhile chief minister conveyed via social media.
