Dasari narayana rao was born on May 4, 1947 in Palakollu, west godavari district in a rich family. But the fire accident in their tobacco godown on the day of diwali they damaged financially. He was even unable to pay the fees. His father stopped his studies and put him to work in the carpenter's shop, but with the help of a master, he came back into the study and received the prize as the best student in the sixth grade. He also participated in some dramas while studying in college. After graduating, he entered the theater field.

He was passionate about drama from childhood and was recognized as a talented stage actor, playwright, film director and producer in a short time. Many artists were also introduced to the film industry by him, especially star heroines. There was nothing in the industry that he did not achieve. When he made dramas, rishikesh pictures company chief Krishnaiah was charmed by his performance gave a chance to become a comedian in the film, ’Pamtham Kosam Pandem’. This was his debut movie as a comedian. After that he grew step by step in his career and directed 150 movies which was a Guinness Book Record. He created wonders by producing 50 movies. In addition to these he worked as a lyricist for more than 250 films, he also starred in Telugu, tamil and Kannada language films and won the prize for Best Actor by the Andhra Pradesh State Government.
