French Open 2021: Novak Djokovic brushes past Berankis to advance into fourth round- World No.1 Novak Djokovic has defeats Lithuania’s Ricardas Berankis in round three of the French Open 2021. He lost just one point (6-1, 6-1) in the dominating first set and third set while he claimed the second set sets 6-4 against little-known Berankis. In the second set, the latter showed some spark, but he was no match for the experienced Djokovic.
He had sailed into the third round after wins over T Sandgren and P Cuevas in three-set battles. He is in superb form and will aim to continue his dominant run in the contest. Djokovic is aiming big record- overtake Roger Federer to become the first player to win two grand slams at every four majors.
Later in the day, both Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer will be in action in their respective third-round matches of the French Open.
