CHENNAI: The
Tamil Nadu government that on Saturday announced the lockdown extension till June 14 also announced some travel
relaxations.
Except for eleven districts which still have high Covid-19 cases, public are allowed to travel in rented cars, taxis and in auto rickshaws after e-registration. The eleven districts are Coimbatore, the Nilgiris, Tirupur, Erode, Salem, Karur, Namakkal, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam and Mayiladuthurai.
The government has allowed movement of private security service staff and housekeeping staff in apartment complexes after e-registration.
Electricians, plumbers, carpenters and other skilled technicians too will be allowed movement from 6 am to 5 pm, provided they have availed e-registration.
In rented cars, three passengers other than the driver and in auto rickshaws, two passengers other than the driver are allowed.
Those wanting to visit places such as the Nilgiris, Kodaikkanal, Yercaud, Yelagiri, Courtallam for emergency purposes will have to avail e-pass from the concerned district collector.
