BJP-JJP govt make promises and forget: Kumari Selja

Chandigarh, June 5 (UNI) President, Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee Kumari Selja said that the present BJP-JJP government in the state has become a government that has not fulfilled its promises. They did not have any experience of running the government. On the basis of promises, they formed the government and now they have forgotten all those promises. The truth of the government's hollow claims has now become clear from the figures released by the NITI Aayog, she added.

Kumari Selja said that when the BJP-JJP government was formed in the state, it had come before the people with many promises which mainly included education, industry, unemployment, providing clean water to the people, cleanliness and curbing crimes, but the government has been a complete failure on all these issues. According to the data released by NITI Aayog, clean water has not been provided to all in rural areas and crime has increased manifold. The state has also slipped down in industry, innovation and infrastructure. Economic growth has slowed down due to rising unemployment and the standard of education has also fallen.

Kumari Selja said that employment in manufacturing units has decreased. Where it was 19.5 percent in the year 2019, it has come down to 17.60 percent in the year 2020. At the same time, the unemployment rate in the state has increased compared to the year 2019. According to the data, where the unemployment rate was 8.4 percent in the year 2019, it has increased to 9.81 percent in 2020. The government has failed to bring children to school and the dropout of children has increased from 12.16 percent to 14.39 percent. Instead of building new schools, the government is bent on closing the old schools. The shortage of teachers is visible in the schools, she added.

Kumari Selja said that crime has increased so much in Haryana that today businessmen, women and common man are afraid to even leave their houses. The spirits of criminals are high in the state and the government is sitting idle.

Kumari Selja said that in the terms of unemployment, the government has pushed the state far back. Lakhs of youth of the state are sitting unemployed and they are not being given any allowance by the government. She said that instead of coming up with new industries during the tenure of the BJP-JJP government, the industries established under the rule of the Congress government are closing due to the failures of this government.

Kumari Selja said that earlier the government had left the farmers on their own and they sold their mustard crop to private companies. The farmers have been agitating for the last six months for their genuine demands, but they are not being heard. Farmers are upset due to the stoppage of wheat procurement. The wheat crop of the farmers lying in the grain market is not being procured. The government's claim of buying every single grain of the crop has proved to be false. So why the government is asking farmers that where and to whom did they sell their mustard crop, she said.
