ENG vs NZ 1st Test Day 4 Lunch: England in big trouble as Tim Southee picks 4 quick wickets, ENG 164/6 (69 ov)- New Zealand pacer Tim Southee made life hell for the England batsmen by picking up four wickets on Day 4 of the first Test here at the Lord’s Cricket Ground. Southee removed Zak Crawley, Ollie Pope, Dan Lawrence and James Bracey in the first session of the day’s play.
Earlier, England captain Joe Root was sent back to the dugout by New Zealand pacer Kyle Jamieson. Root was dismissed on 42 of 113 balls with the help of five boundaries. Rory Burns who scored a fifty is going strong but will need support from the other end.

Rain played spoilsport in an exciting contest between England and New Zealand as Day 3 of the 1st Test was abandoned without a ball being bowled. Intermittent rain and drizzles continued the whole day and the wet outfield meant the day had to be called off. Earlier debutant Devon Conway’s double hundred helped Kiwis post 378 while Joe Root’s England were 112/2 at Day 2 stumps.
