Kerala BJP President's secretary, driver quizzed in black money case

Thrissur, Jun 5 (UNI) Kerala BJP President K Surendran's Secretary and driver have been quizzed by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Kodakara black money case at the Police Club here on Saturday.
K Surendran's Secretary Dipin was released after the SIT interrogated him for more than two hours, police sources said.
K Surendran's driver Libeesh, who also appeared before the SIT, was questioned for more than two hours along with Dipin.
Both of them agreed that they knew accused Dharmarajan and contacted him several times during the election period.
The Police team also questioned a CPI(M) worker Rijil of Kodungallur in connection with the alleged help provided to the key accused Ranjith of the robbery gang.
According to various reports more BJP State leaders including party president K Surendran will be summoned in the coming days.
Earlier, the SIT also took testimony from NDA Kunnamkulam constituency candidate KK Aneesh Kumar and other State leaders including BJP Organizing Secretary M Ganesh, state office secretary G Girish in connection with the hawala money transported into the State during the recently concluded election, that is estimated to be Rs 3.5 crore.
The SIT got the information that the money was meant for the Assembly election campaign of the BJP. Police conducted raids at the houses of the accused and their friends at various districts in North Malabar and recovered nearly Rs 1.25 crore of the Rs 3.5 crore that was stolen by a gang after waylaid a vehicle at Kodakara on April 3.
