Coronavirus had the coveted Cannes Film Festival cancelled last year. The film festival is now set to return in July by maintaining all the necessary Covid-19 precautions as everyone will have to get tested before entering the venue. And now, Cannes has unveiled the films that will compete in its 74th edition.

Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch and Sean Penn’s Flag Day will be competing for the top honours and Oscar-winner Jodie Foster will be presented the honorary Palme d’Or.

Foster will also be the festival’s guest of honour at its opening ceremony scheduled for July 6.

The actress first attended Cannes when she was 13 as a cast member of the Palme d’Or-winning Taxi Driver.
