CHANDIGARH: Amid the trouble-shooting exercise in Delhi to end infighting in the Punjab Congress, Bholath MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira returned to Congress, while rebel AAP MLAs Pirmal Singh and Jagdev Singh Kamalu joined it on Thursday in the presence of CM Amarinder Singh. Amarinder later left for New Delhi to meet the Mallikarjun Kharge-headed three-member panel on Friday. The Speaker’s office confirmed that the three had resigned from the Vidhan Sabha. Earlier, AAP had demanded Khaira’s disqualification on the plea that he had formed his own party. With the Assembly elections due in early 2022, bypolls in the three constituencies are unlikely.
