Uttarakhand Cooperative Federation (UCF) has decided to honour the well-known co-operator and one of its UCF’s former Chairman Pramod Kumar Singh by constructing a statue of him at its premises in Dehradun.
A senior co-operator from Uttarakhand, Pramod Kumar Singh died of Covid-19 in April this year. The decision to have his statue is to remember his role in strengthening the cooperative movement of the state in general and the federation in particular.
The decision to construct the statue was taken in the board meeting of the federation held virtually on Wednesday. Pramod is credited with playing a crucial role in setting up the grand building of Uttarakhand Cooperative Federation in Dehradun.
Pramod Singh was one of the eminent co-operators from the state who contributed a lot in the growth and development of co-ops not only in Uttarakhand but also in India. He was both on the boards of NCUI and IFFCO.
In the meeting, UCF’s MD M P Tripathi assured the board members that the suggestions given will be followed up on time.
On the occasion, Rajendra Singh Negi, Nainital, Narendra Singh, Udham Singh Nagar, Geeta Nautiyal Tehri, Kapil Kanta, Haridwar and others were present.
