New Delhi, June 4

The Central Board of Secondary Education instituted a 13-member committee to draw up criteria for evaluation for Class 12 board exams, officials said.

The board will primarily be mandated with considering how evaluation could be done after board exams were cancelled because of Covid-19. The panel will submit its report in 10 days, Exam Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj said.

Both CBSE and the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations cancelled Class 12 exams on June 1, after hours of deliberation by the prime minister and many high-ranking ministers and officials.

Several state boards have since followed suit.  — Agencies
