Hyderabad, Jun 4 (UNI) Telangana recorded 2,175 new cases of COVID-19 and 15 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per a state health bulletin released on Friday.
Out of the new cases reported from 33 districts, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) recorded 253 cases while neighbouring districts Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Sanagreddy recorded 101, 81 and 35 cases respectively followed by Nalgonda (178), Khammam (144), Karimnagar (113), Bhadadri-Kothagudem (110), Mahabubabad (73) among other districts.
The active cases have reached 30,918 while as many as 3,821 patients also recovered, taking the total number of recoveries to 5,53,400.The cumulative caseload now stands at 5,87,664 and the death toll at 3,346.
The Case Fatality Rate (VFR) continued at 0.56 per cent while the recovery rate saw a slight increase from 93.86 per cent to 94.16 per cent.
The number of active containment zones stood at 175, with the highest 51 in Mahabubabad district, followed by Nalgonda (32), Hyderabad (1 ) and Warangal Rural (12).
Continuing its upward trend in testing, the state tested 1,36,096 samples, against 1,10,169 samples the previous day.
Telangana has now completed testing 1.56 crore samples and reached 4.19 lakh sample testing per million populations.
