18,000 new Covid cases, 514 deaths in Karnataka

BENGALURU: Karnataka on Thursday saw 18,324 new Covid cases, with a daily positivity rate of 12.2%. Bengaluru accounted for 3,533 cases, followed by Hassan 2,078 and Mysuru 1,573.
The state crossed the 3-crore mark in tests, with over 1.5 lakh tests in 24 hours. Across the state, 514 Covid deaths were reported on Thursday, and 347 of them came from Bengaluru.
On the vaccination front, the state covered 1.8 lakh persons as of 3.30pm. This included 1.1 lakh persons in the age group 18-44 years getting their first dose.
