When we hear the word 'racism', we immediately think of of America. However, racism is quite predominant in the Indian heartland too. Times and again, people from Northeast India have faced racism in other parts of the country. They are often and called 'Chinese' and 'Nepali' even though they are Indians.

Recently, journalist Rahul Kanwal too made a similar ignorant statement implying that Nagaland is not in India.

Responding to such racism, a rap video was posted on Twitter by Secretary of All India Mahila Congress, Lhingkim H Shingnaisui Kim, against the racism in India against north-eastern Indians.

The rap song says that people from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Meghalaya and Tripura are Indiand and they belong to India, nowhere else.

Tweeting the video, Kim wrote, "People from Northeast India are not Chinese or Japanese. A simple message by a rapper!"

The video has gone viral on Twitter as many are echoing similar sentiments. While the artist is unknown, the message is sure spreading widely. Messages of equality and brotherhood are pouring in the comment section.

Here are some of the reactions to the rap video. Have a look.
