Man posing as a member of the railway board in Hyderabad detained, vehicle seized, false IDs

Hyderabad: The Telangana Police Special Operations Team (SOT) has arrested a 44-year-old man who allegedly posed as a member of the South Central Railway Board and Central Film Censor Board by illegally attaching signposts to his vehicle. to make. The arrest was made on Tuesday.

According to police, the accused was identified as Kota Venkatesh and a Bolero car, fake identity cards and voter ID cards were seized.

“Kota Venkatesh does real estate in the LB Nagar area in the city. Previously, he was only a member of the Railway Users Consultative Committees Division (DRUCC) and not a board member of South Central Railway for the period from 2014 to 2016. He was nominated as a panel board member of Central Film. Sensor Board for the period 2016 to 2018, ”the police said in a statement.

‘After his tenure as a member of South Central Railway and a member of the Central Film Censor Board, instead of removing the nomination boards to his personal vehicles, he retained them and illegally enjoyed the benefits of them and deceived people. “He also continues to use the ID cards and business cards with his given name to gain respect among the public and officials, thereby deceiving the public by introducing himself as a board member of the Railway and Central Film Censorship Board,” he said.

The case was registered under sections 17 and 419 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 7 of the State Emblem of India (Prohibition of Improper Use) Act of 2005, on the LB Nagar police saturation.

Venkatesh was caught at the LB Nagar checkpoint on Tuesday.

“On 1 June at 18:00, while the accused Kota Venkatesh was driving in his Bolero vehicle with No AP-11-AT-9909 on the road at SBH Colony X Road, LB Nagar without E-Pass, right through the sign “The South Railway Council member and the Ashoka Emblem (Satyameva Jayathe) and the director of the Central Sensor Board, the SOT and LB Nagar police arrested him,” said the police.

“Upon further investigation, he admitted that he was guilty of this offense. As such, the above-mentioned Bolero vehicle, together with other property as mentioned above, was seized under the protection of panchanama in the presence of mediators from the possession of the accused, ”he said.
